What is PENRAD Imaging?
PENRAD Imaging began in 1978 when a group of local radiologists, Colorado Springs Radiologists, PC, pioneered free-standing, outpatient imaging services in Colorado Springs. Now a partnership with Centura Health, PENRAD Imaging is the largest provider of advanced imaging procedures in the region. With a commitment to quality, transparency and providing the best possible service to the community, PENRAD Imaging and the sub-specialty radiologists of Colorado Springs Radiologists, PC, remain the most recognized and trusted names in imaging services along the front range.
What Insurance Does PENRAD Imaging Accept?
Dealing with insurance and billing can be confusing. Our billing department staff will be happy to assist you with your billing questions. Here is a list of our current, in network insurances. However, because insurance plans and benefits vary greatly, specific questions about your policy and coverage, including co-payments, deductibles, and pre-authorization, should be directed to your insurance carrier or employer.
Because changes do occur, PENRAD Imaging recommends you check with your insurance carrier before receiving services to be sure that we are in your provider network.
Please feel free to contact the Billing Department at (719) 785-9000 Option 2 if you have any questions.
How Are My Results Communicated to Me?
One of our board-certified radiologists will interpret your exam. Please be assured that although you may not see the radiologist personally, he or she will view or “read” your exam thoroughly. The results of your exam will be reported to your referring physician, usually within 48-72 hours of your exam, but please allow your doctor time to review your results and get in touch with you.
You may access your results via our patient portal. You will need your medical record number to access the portal, so if this was not provided to you, or if you have any additional questions, please call (719) 785-9000 option **for assistance.
If you wish to obtain a copy of your report, call (719) 785-9000 option** or click here for a medical release form. Please fill out and return your release form to us by submitting it online, faxing it to (719) 867-7915, or mailing the form to any of our locations. You can either come to any of our locations to pick up your report or we can simply mail it to you.
About Our Radiologists
A radiologist is a physician who completes an additional one-year internship and a four-year residence in diagnostic radiology. The radiologists at PENRAD Imaging further expanded their knowledge by intensive study beyond their internship and residency to obtain sub-specialty fellowships in the fields of neuroradiology, pediatrics, and, musculoskeletal, and interventional radiology.
Are All of The Radiologists Board Certified?
All PENRAD Imaging Radiologists are certified by the American Board of Radiology. In addition, the Radiologists have completed fellowships and received additional certification in imaging sub-specialties.
Why Is Sub-Specialty Expertise Important?
A specialized radiologist offers heightened insight and expertise. Sub-specialty training gives the radiologist a greater breadth and depth of knowledge which benefits the patient by providing unparalleled experience specific to the individual exam.
